Visscher Panorama
Panorama of the City of London in the early 17th century by Visscher. It shows the City about 50 years before the Great Fire of 1666 destroyed much of it. St Paul's Cathedral lost its famous spire due to a lightning strike in 1561. Towards the left is the riverside Baynard's Castle, excavated by archaeologists in 1972. 2 sheets, each measuring 42.5 x 99cm.
